Benefits Planning Tool Kit: The Basics

This tool kit is an introduction to the core components of the benefits programs most commonly used by people with disabilities, including mental illness. These include SSI, SSDI, Medicare, Medicaid. The tool kit is designed for case managers, employment specialists, vocational rehabilitation specialists, and other service providers who who want to learn the basics of benefits planning so they can help consumers make more informed choices about their financial futures. Learn how to help people manage their benefits and pursue their employment dreams.

This tool kit includes narrative description of benefits programs, worksheets and handouts to be used with recipients of services, and useful links and information that may be of assistance as you further your knowledge of benefits topics.
