Part 4 of a series on mental health and addiction-services research and training initiatives at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. This research project examines the experiences of people with severe mental illness. It explores how their transitioning on and off Medicaid insurance might impact their access to the community-based services that are so essential for health, well-being, and recovery.

The event is sponsored by the Public Psychiatry Program at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

One of our most popular training events is back! ... "IDDT Implementation Strategies for Program Leaders" is a two-day event for innovators in Ohio and across the nation who are implementing an Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) team with aspirations of high fidelity to the model. This event is an essential foundation for program leadership. Tues, Feb 1 & Wed, Feb 2, 2011 in Columbus, Ohio.

Kick off the new year right. Expand your knowledge and learn practical skills for providing more effective treatment for people with mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. We are offering a number of training events in January, February, and March 2011 in southeast Ohio (Cambridge) and central Ohio (Columbus) and with a video-conference series to multiple sites in Ohio. CEUs are available.

Take an educational holiday overseas in March or May 2011. Several travel-abroad courses for Case Western Reserve University students are open to working professionals in health and human services. Join Patrick Boyle of the CEBP for his course, "Integrated Mental Health & Substance Use Services," and a trip to The Netherlands (March 4 to 13). Other classes travel to Guatemala, Turkey, Ecuador.

This season marks the tenth anniversary of Ohio's investment in evidence-based practices for residents with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. It also marks our tenth year as a provider of technical assistance. Both anniversaries were celebrated at our EBP Conference 2010 on October 12, 13, and 14, in Columbus. Over 330 people from Ohio and 17 other states attended.
