Centers of Excellence

The Center for Evidence-Based Practices functions as the parent organization for three Center of Excellence initiatives, two of which are supported by the State of Ohio. Our Centers of Excellence provide technical assistance to health and behavioral healthcare organizations that are committed to improving outcomes and quality of life for people with mental illness, addiction, or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders.

Our Centers of Excellence work cooperatively to help organizations implement and integrate behavioral healthcare innovations.

ACT Center of Excellence

Our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Center of Excellence disseminates the ACT model, which is one of the oldest and most widely researched evidence-based practices in behavioral healthcare. ACT improves outcomes for people with severe mental illness who are most at-risk of homelessness, psychiatric hospitalization, and institutional recidivism.

Our Ohio ACT Coordinating Center of Excellence (ACT CCOE) is supported by the following:

  • Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS)
  • Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM)
