Abstract

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a widely researched service delivery model for individuals with mental illness (and co-occurring substance abuse) who experience consistent, severe symptoms and who benefit from regular, intensive treatment from a multidisciplinary team of trained mental health professionals. This workshop will focus on the benefits of coping and social skills training with an emphasis on executing the steps involved with skills training across service delivery formats. 

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the 10 steps involved in coping and social skills training.
  • Describe the 10 steps involved in conducting a coping and skills group session.
