Abstract

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based practice that is proven to be effective for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This workshop will explore checking facts around thoughts and interpretations. Maladaptive thoughts and painful emotions are often triggers for substance misuse.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe how to check the facts
  • Understand how emotions impact our actions and behaviors
  • Describe how to evaluate if an emotion fits the facts 

 


WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Organizations that are interested in and/or in the process of implementing and utilizing Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), the evidence-based practice. Examples of those who should attend include the following:
