Motivational Interviewing: Building a Sustainable Practice

  • Abstract: Successful knowledge dissemination and skill acquisition necessary for the implementation of Evidence-Based Practices requires effective clinical supervision. In many organizations, clinical supervision occurs informally and with limited support from organizational leaders. This workshop will focus on critical aspects of clinical supervision that are necessary to support the implementation and more importantly the sustainability of Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Principles of Evidence-Based Supported Employment

  • Presenters: Steve Shober, BS, LSW (get bio), and Nicole Clevenger, BFA (get bio), of our Center.
  • Abstract: This Supported Employment model overview workshop will provide participants with an overview of the eight basic principles of evidence-based Supported Employment. Participants will be encouraged to look at the level of implementation of each principle within their agency and at ways that these principles can be further implemented as they provide vocational services. This workshop is also for those that provide services to people diagnosed with severe mental illness and/or co-occurring severe mental illness and substance use disorders.


This conference brings together partners from throughout Ohio to address a variety of behavioral health issues. On Monday, December 16, there will be three pre-conference workshops. On Tuesday, December 17, there will be a series of 30 breakout sessions that will address multiple topics in behavioral health, including the following:
