Deborah Myers, MEd, PCC-S, will be presenting four Motivational Interviewing (MI) training events in southwest Ohio in August, September, and October. Earn CEUs; enhance your clinical and supervsion skills; register online today. Myers is a member of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). She is a consultant and trainer at the CEBP and our Ohio SAMI Coordinating Center of Excellence initiative.

MI is an evidence-based treatment that is one of the best available to address ambivalence to change. MI is a conversational approach designed to help people with discovering their own interest in considering and making a change in their lives (e.g., diet, exercise, managing symptoms of physical or mental illness, reducing and eliminating the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs). MI helps people express in their own words their desire for change (i.e., "change-talk").

MI is a core component of several SAMHSA-recognized evidence-based practices, including Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) and Supported Employment (SE/IPS).
